I featured Percina in a Dignity show on education. She co-founded Kurandza, a non-governmental organization with one of my New York University classmates, Elisabetta Marie, who had served in the Peace Corps in Mozambique after completing her studies in global affairs. They work with communities in there to educate girls. In this video, Percina is thanking me for my years of support.
After my first visit to Rehema Home, I could not stop thinking of the fine, loving, wholesome little human beings that I had met during my time as a volunteer missionary. Years later, I took advantage of an opportunity to visit again when I met a little girl who had not yet been born when I served as a missionary. That little girl ran me ragged with hide and seek, tag, and any other game that required running around campus. I had a ball! When I returned home, I decided to see to her education. When she wrote me and said that she wanted to see me, I surprised her with a visit. I also have the honor of serving on Rehema’s education task force.
